The image above shows the three creators of the TenniSorter starting from the left: Rutu Brahmbhatt, Erin Cook, and Caroline Rausch.
They were all students in the PLTW course Engineering Design and Development at Crystal Lake South High School.
They were encouraged by their instructor, Jay Wiese, to find a problem within their community and a solution for it.
All three students were also tennis players for the South High School tennis team, and realized that the tennis coaches had to
sort through hundreds of tennis balls by hand each season. This is where the inspiration for their project came from.
Rutu is an Electrical Engineering student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Erin is also attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is majoring in Physics.
Caroline is studying Mechanical Engineering at the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering.
